CTP - Telecommunications Industry
Association’s Convergence
Technologies Professional |
SYNOPSIS
The Telecommunications Industry
Association’s Convergence
Technologies Professional (CTP) is
a vendor-neutral certification for
IT professionals who have the core
knowledge and skills required by
equipment manufacturers, their
channel partners, and end-users to
sell and service convergence
technologies. This certification
shortens the path to
vendor-specific certifications.”
The CTP is required for certain
Intel-Tel, and Mitel training, is
endorsed as a“stepping stone” for
the Cisco IP Telephony
certification, is accepted as an
equivalent to the Avaya Certified
Associates (ACA) core exam, and is
recommended as one of the
preparation activities for the
Nortel Networks VoIP Technology
certification exam #920-801.
The TIA CTP certification
emerged in the spring 2002 and, so
far, no retirement date has been
announced for the CTP TT0-101
exam.
Job roles of those pursuing
this certification typically
include: channel partner sales
professionals, technical
representatives, advanced
technical engineers, and
application sales engineers.
To achieve the CTP, a candidate
must pass one exam.
