SYNOPSIS
Certified Wireless Network
Professional’s CWSP (Certified
Wireless Security Professional) is
a mid-level certification for IT
professionals who “understand how
to secure a wireless LAN from
hackers” and who “know how to
protect the valuable information
on their network.” Topics on this
certification include “advanced
processes and techniques for
keeping enterprise wireless
network data secure.”
Planet3 Wireless launched the
CWSP certification in the spring
of 2003. In terms of
recertification, essentially
candidates may either: 1)
“recertify by passing the latest
version of their current level of
CWNP certification within 24
months of the initial date of the
latest level of certification
earned”; or 2) “maintain a valid
CWNP certification status by
earning the next level of
certification within the CWNP
Program within 24 months of the
initial date of the previous level
of certification earned.” Click

this certification typically
include: network administrators,
security administrators, systems
security practitioners, IS
(Information Security)
professionals, and other IT
professionals with wireless in
their titles.
To achieve the CWSP a candidate
must pass two exams.
